Midlift lifts the Bathyscaphe Trieste with its telescopic crane LTM 1120 crane

A highly meaningful operation saw Midlift, a company specialized in mobile crane rental with an operational base in Trieste, play a leading role. On September 29, with our LTM 1120 crane, we lifted the full-scale (1:1) reproduction of the famous Batiscafo Trieste, a symbol of engineering and innovation originally built in 1953 at the Cantieri Riuniti dell’Adriatico.

The initiative, promoted by the Municipality of Trieste, is part of the Batiscafo Trieste Operation: a project that celebrates the memory of Diego de Henriquez and scientists August and Jacques Piccard. After being exhibited in Piazza Unità d’Italia during the 2025 Barcolana, the submarine will be permanently placed at the Diego de Henriquez War for Peace Museum in Trieste, enriching the new section dedicated to its construction history.

Thanks to our lifting operation in Trieste, the reproduction of the Batiscafo safely completed a crucial phase of its installation. Operations like this confirm the reliability of Midlift in Trieste as a trusted technical partner for complex projects.
